NAMM 2015: Gibson Memphis Limited Run Models

Limited Run range has taken up an entire half of this year`s roster with fourteen six-string models. They`re luxurious, they`re expensive, and they bring the classic Gibson vibe.

Gibson Memphis has introduced a huge lineup of novelties at 2015 NAMM, evenly divided into the regular, permanent models on one, and Limited Run models on the other side. With 28 being the total number of introduced models, each side has been updated with fourteen models. While the regular side starts at around $1,500, Limiteds kick off at pretty high $2,999 mark, with the gorgeous ES-390. Trini Lopez ($3,299), ES-Les Paul White Top ($3,499), ES-Les Paul Bigsby ($3,499), ES-335 Figured 390 Neck ($3,499), ES-Les Paul Cobra Burst ($3,499), ES-Les Paul VOS ($3,699), ES-Les Paul Custom ($3,799) and ES-335 Figured Indigo Blue ($3,799) come in under the $4,000 mark. 1964 ES-345TDC Figured VOS ($4,499), 1963 ES-335TDC Figured VOS ($4,499), ES-355 Bigsby VOS ($4,499) and 1952 ES-295 Bigsby VOS ($4,999) have price tags set under $5,000. And, the only model above $5,000 mark is 1959 ES-175D Figured VOS with the list price set at $5,399.

It might sound inappropriate to name a $3,000 guitar an opening model, but when it comes to Gibson Memphis Limited Run range, ES-390 with $2,999 price tag is the most affordable of fourteen options. It rocks the semi-hollow maple/poplar body, MHS P-90 pickups and some of the finest vintage features. For more info, check the ES-390 detail page on our site or Gibson.com.

Next in line Is Trini Lopez model, one of only two artist models among the twenty eight introduced for 2015. It is an adapted 335 with diamond instead of “f” holes, and modified headstock with in-line tuners. Burstbucker Pro pickups deliver an awesome level of power and versatility to this tuxedo-clad rocker. For more info, check the Trini Lopez detail page on our site or Gibson.com.

The first, and also the most affordable, of five ES-LP models within the Limited Run range for 2015 is the magnificent ES-Les Paul White Top. With ES-Les Paul Bigsby, we proceed down the $3,000 class. This year`s standard Maple/poplar body construction (figured maple top, ES-LP center block, “f” holes and a pickguard on the top), set mahogany neck (historic truss rod), vintage-styled AVR bridge with Bigsby vibrato tailpiece and MHS pickups grace this exclusive six-stringer. $3,000-$4,000 range is the most populous one among the 2015 Gibson Memphis Limited Run models, and ES-335 Figured 390 Neck is one of its shiniest stars. This traditional semi boasts all of the hallmark 335 features, and is being improved with a modified `59 (ES-390) neck.
