ES-355 Bigsby VOS ranks among the most expensive models Gibson Memphis has introduced for 2015, and is also one of the most expensive Limited Run models. But, despite the $4,499 price tag,this magnificent 355 will go like hot cake. It is not an every day thing to see such a beautiful and beautiful sounding Thinline ES. Semi-hollow and double-cut, body of this Thinline is made entirely of maple and poplar. Three-ply laminates (maple/poplar/maple) are used for the top, back and sides. Multi-ply black/white binding, black plastics and nickel-plated hardware make a great contrast to the Olive Drab paint job featured on the body, back of the neck and the back side of the headstock. Bridge section on the carved top is flanked by a pair of traditional "f" holes and features an ABR bridge with a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece behind it. `57 Classic pickups, well known from the Gibson USA range, give the classic late 50s humbucker tone with bucket loads of sustain and enhanced highs. Classic four-piece controls unit (2x volume, 2x tone) and the three-way toggle pickup switch are featured along with the pickups. One-piece mahogany neck is fit with a vintage profile in the back and rocks a vintage truss rod used back in the sixties. 22-fret fingerboard on its top is made of a single piece of the top grade rosewood, and features low profile frets, block inlays and 1.675" wide bone nut.
