In 2015, Jackson is coming on aggressively in the lower sections of the market. Special attention has been paid to the JS and X ranges, which account for more than a half of 2015 novelties, outweighing the Pro and Signature ranges by a large margin. The basic JS tier is now richer for a dozen new guitars. Among them, there`s one seven and one eight string model. But, the bulk of the new lineup is made up of six-stringed Dinky guitars. JS22 belongs to the intermediate class of the JS range and offers a bit upgraded JS12 specs list. This means a solid and double-cut basswood body with a flat top and contoured back. The standard Fulcrum tremolo bridge comes with six adjustable saddles and non-locking construction. In its front, a pair of black-clad Jackson High Output pickups is installed. These two offer a fantastic sustain, and a very aggressive tone with fat lows, clear mids and searing highs. One volume knob, one tone knob and a three-position blade switch follow them in the controls unit. Fast and slim maple neck is made of a single piece of wood, and is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. One of the distinctions between the 12 and 22 is the choice of inlays (22 rocks the cool Shark Fins, while the 12 has plain dots), as well as the binding around 22`s fingerboard. Downward-pointing headstock houses a set of series-standard die-cast Jackson tuners. With an impressive specs list (for a $200 range), famous Jackson playability and construction, and a strong, well defined tone, Jackson`s JS22 Dinky shoots for the throne of the beginner guitar class.
