Cort`s CJ series is there for all the fans of the vintage jumbo guitars, especially the players who are looking for affordable variations on the age-old Super Jumbo theme. The new 2018 Cort catalog will feature one new CJ model, CJ Retro. The Retro, being true to its name, sports vintage styling, full-sized body, as well as the standard 25-1/2" scale. Vintage Sunburst Matt (w/white pickguard, chrome hardware, multi-layered binding, abalone rosette) is the only available color option. Cort`s official site offers no info on the price, MSRP or retail. Main construction features include mahogany back & sides, spruce-made soundboard, mahogany neck (series standard profile, 14th fret dovetail joint), merbau fingerboard (Cort`s main fingerboard choice for 2018 models), merbau bridge, and Fishman VTB soundhole pickup.

This guitar has an amazing tone both on the amp and off. The sound is full and rich. The action and playability is superb. The construction is flawless and it looks great too. I would have liked a tortuous shell look pick guard though so it would be a little less flashy but it is my only nit pick. I’m very happy with it. I also have a Cort CJ3 which is also magnificent. I have about 50 years of playing experience and had many guitars. She is a keeper! It is probably the best I’ve played and that includes some very expensive guitars.
