Finally the legendary 1959 LP Standard receives the super luxurious True Historic treatment. This treatment takes the term historical accuracy to a whole new level. In fact, upon it`s introduction into the Historic range, Gibson Custom`s luthiers and builders had to relearn their craft almost from the scratch. Today, in 2015, it`s a lot less stressful and the technology`s synched well. Finally, it is time to give the most iconic LP a go. True Historic 1959 Les Paul comes with a one-piece mahogany body, just like the original. But, thanks to the advanced technology and electronics, the average weight of today`s 1959 LP`s body is around 6.5 lbs without the weight relief (none of the True Historic models made in 2015 have the weight relief). On the top, there is a high grade flamed maple cap with creme binding around the edges and the surgically precise contour. Pickups employed on this marvelous replica are Custom Buckers, in both the bridge and neck positions. Standard controls, two-piece bridge unit and the classic white pickguard are also installed on the top, along with them. Mahogany neck is also a one-piece, and it comes with the perfectly recreated `59 profile in the back. Rosewood fingerboard on the top comes with 22 frets, trapezoid inlays, creme binding and a nylon string nut (1-11/16" wide). The MSRP for this model is set at $8,599.
