2015 True Historic line is a part of the Historic series made by Gibson`s Custom department. In order to achieve this unreal level of historical accuracy, Gibson`s luthiers and craftsmen had to start from the scratch and reinvent their craft. Tools, procedures and technologies used during the production were completely new. One of the brightest examples of the results achieved with the 2015 True Historic range is True Historic 1960 Les Paul. Back in the 1960, Gibson released what has proven to be the last of the legendary LPs before the series resurrection in 1968. Also, it was the last model to feature the original burst paintjob. 2015 version comes in three color options - Cherry Sunburst, Dark Burst and Lemon Burst. All three can be obtained in Vintage and Aged Vintage variants. The average weight of the one-piece mahogany bodies is around three kilograms (around 6.5 lbs) which is, probably, the biggest difference when 2015 and 1960 model are compared. Top is made of two pieces of flamed maple, has the surgically accurate contour and the classic creme binding. Two Custom Buckers comprise the pickups combo, with the standard controls unit being installed along with them. Mahogany neck is a one-piece with the 1960 LP profile and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Along with the historically accurate frets, one-piece Indian rosewood fingerboard also features trapezoid inlays, creme binding and 1-11/16" wide nylon nut. The MSRP for this beauty is set at $8,599.
