Collector`s Choice is a line of super exclusive guitars made in very limited quantities. There is a certain number of guitars "marked" for the Collector`s Choice series, but a lot of them are still waiting to be realized, as it is very hard to gather all the necessary conditions and even parts for some of them. Thus the oddball sequence in which they`re made. For example, 2015 lineup comes with the Collector`s Choice #5 and Collector`s Choice #24 models. This could hardly be called consistent numbering order. Collector`s Choice #5 Tom Wittrock 1959 Les Paul - Donna model is one of two 2015 models and it, of course, comes in a very limited run. It is made with a one-piece mahogany body and a two-piece flamed maple top. The top is made with a now standard central division line (back before the introduction of the burst, Goldtops and black Customs were often made with offset division lines, or even out of three or four pieces). Top of this model is fit with the historically accurate 1959 Sunburst color scheme. Pickups combo is made up of a pair of Burstbucker 3 pickups which deliver a tone almost indistinguishable from the PAFs built into the original 1959 LPs. One-piece neck is made with the 1959 profile (the accepted standard for the 1959 profile, for the very early ones still had the 1958 profiles). 22-fret rosewood fingerboard also features the larger frets (up until 1958, LPs came with smaller frets), trapezoid inlays and creme binding. Vintage Kluson Reissue tuners wrap the specs list. The MSRP for this unbelievable 1959 LP is set at $10,499.
