Gibson`s ES range is now the responsibility of the recently formed Gibson Memphis division, and is becoming the back bone, the mainstay of the young Gibson sub-brand. For 2015, twenty eight new models are making their debut, and fourteen of them are Limited Run models. 1964 ES-345TDC VOS is one of them. With thinline design, classic ES construction and vintage styling, 1964 ES-345 is bound for glory. It kicks off with a semi-hollow body made entirely of maple and poplar (three-ply maple/poplar/maple panels make up the back, sides and the top), and a set in neck made of mahogany. Clad in a vintage color scheme, body of this gorgeous Thinline model is equipped with arched back as well as top. Creme binding around the body, pickguard and neck, black plastics and nicker-plated hardware provide a beautiful contrast to the gloss-finished Sixties Cherry paint. ABR bridge/stoptail bar bridge unit and a set of two MHS humbuckers also find their place upon the carved top. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs and the classic three-way toggle switch are accompanied by a six-position Varitone switch. Mahogany neck on this 1964 ES-345 is fit with a `60 profile in the back and a historic 1960s truss rod on the inside. 22-fret fingerboard on the top is made of rosewood.
