1959 ES-335TD is one of fourteen regular models Gibson Memphis has introduced for this model year. It is, also, the most expensive one (when the fourteen Limited Run models are included, this vintage ES is still the most expensive among the current Gibson Memphis models). Semi-hollow, and with "Mickey Mouse ears" double cutaway, 1959 ES-335TD is the most accurate rendition of the 1959 335 ever made. Back, sides and the top are all made of three-ply maple/poplar/maple laminates. Creme-bound and embellished with some of the finest vintage decorations, 1959 ES-335TD is offered in Vintage Natural and Historic Burst color schemes. Both are finished in gloss and both feature nickel-plated hardware. Classic two-piece bridge on the top comes with an ABR bridge with lightweight stoptail bar behind it. In front of the top-load bridge, Gibson Memphis installs a pair of MHS humbuckers with a classic controls unit (vintage "no logo" pots are used). Black pickguard with white binding and 45 degree trimming, and a pair of "f" holes are also featured on the top. One-piece mahogany neck rocks the historically accurate profile taken over from the original 1959 335. Historic truss rod is found within the neck. On its top, there`s a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays (335 got the block inlays with 1963 redesign), 1.70" wide nylon nut and 12" radius. Vintage-styled Kluson machine heads grace the headstock. The price tag of the most expensive Gibson Memphis model in existence is set at whooping $6,199.
