Limited Run 1963 ES-335TDC Figured VOS (2015) by Gibson
Sixties Cherry

The original semi-hollow ES-335 was introduced back in 1958, and became an instant classic. Sales took off immediately and 335 became the backbone of an entirely new range of Gibson catalog, the semi-hollow section of the Electric Spanish range. Five years down the road, 335 was treated to its first face lift, and the second generation was introduced. Fast forward fifty two years and we arrive to the present day where Gibson Memphis revives the 1963 model through the Limited Run 1963 ES-335TDC Figured VOS (VOS stands for the Vintage Original Specs). The new 1963 335 comes with a semi-hollow and double-cut body made of maple and poplar, and a set in mahogany neck. Back and sides are made of maple/poplar/maple laminates, while the top features figured maple instead of the plain. Bridge section on the creme-bound top is made up of a no-wire ABR bridge and the lightweight stoptail bar. MHS humbuckers fill both the bridge and neck positions in the pickups department. Standard controls unit (vol/vol/tone/tone/three-way toggle switch) is installed with them. One-piece mahogany neck is fit with the original 1963 profile and sports the vintage sixties truss rod. Rosewood fingerboard is made of a single piece of wood and features 22 frets with block inlays (in 1963, 335 switched from dot to block inlays), as well as a1.70" wide nylon nut. Vintage-styled Kluson tuners on the headstock wrap up the specs list of this upscale 335 (list price is set at $4,499.
