Limited Run 1952 ES-295 VOS (2015) by Gibson
Sixties Cherry

Out of twenty eight models Gibson Memphis has introduced for 2015, several top spots belong to the models dedicated to the 1950s. As the most affordable `50s model, 1952 ES-295 VOS is also a Limited Run model. Back in 1952, Gibson has introduced their first solid bodied guitar, and humbucker-powered semi-hollows were nowhere in sight. Thus, all of the models of the Electric Spanish range were completely hollow (as is this model) and equipped with single-coil P-90s. As all Gibson`s historic replicas do, this luxurious 295 recreates the tone, looks and feel of the original model with a stunning level of fidelity and quality. Fully hollow and single-cut ES body of this model is made completely of maple and poplar (three-ply maple/poplar/maple laminates are used), and is paired with a mahogany neck. Bridge section is flanked by a pair of elegant "f" holes and features the vintage-styled wraparound tailpiece anchored near the strap pin. MHS P-90s bring the 50s tone in its full glory, featuring the classic Gibson controls unit (vol/vol/tone/tone/3-way toggle pickup switch). Mahogany neck is reinforced with the historic truss rod which makes a big comeback this year, and offers the accurate historic soft C profile in the back. 19 frets with split parallelogram inlays, creme binding and 1.7" wide nylon nut are featured on the one-piece rosewood fingerboard. Vintage Kluson tuners with 15:1 ratio are installed on the classic Gibson headstock.
