TV Pelham Blue

Firebird is one of the essential models in both the Epiphone and Gibson catalogs. It was first introduced into production lines back in the early 1960s. Firebird was supposed to be a replacement and more common variant of the extreme Explorer, which was introduced in 1957 and was initially a failure. Over the time, both models have gained massive popularity and are still in the production. Firebird features a solid-body construction with most of the models having neck-through-body construction. Set in necks are also among common construction solutions. Firebirds are flat on top and feature no binding. Also, many of them come with dot inlays on their fingerboards. Firebird Studio Ltd. Ed. TV Pelham Blue Collection model comes with a solid, classic-shaped body made of mahogany. Flat top is only decorated with a black plastic pickguard. Bridge section is a prennial two-piece, made up of a Locktone tune-o-matic bridge in the front and stoptail bar in the back. Bridge section is plated in nickel. Pickups on this Firebird are Alnico Classic active humbuckers. Bridge pickup is Alnico Classic Plus. Controls unit for these pickups is a standard one and it features classic two volume + two tone knobs. In addition to these knobs, Epiphone installs a three-way toggle pickup switch. Volume knobs are equipped with a pair of push-pull switches, thus enabling coil-splitting. Neck on this model is set in and made of mahogany. 1960s slim taper contour is featured in the back. 22 medium jumbo-sized frets are marked with dot inlays. Rosewood fingerboard also features 12" radius and 1-11/16" nut width. Headstrock is equipped with a set of six nickel-plated tuners in 3+3 arrangement. Tuners are Grovers with 18:1 gear ratio, which enables super tight and super precise tuning.
