Never has a non-existing band been more popular than Dethklok from the cult animated series Metalocalypse. Nathan Explosion, Pickles, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, William Murderface and Toki Wartooth have become metal legends in their own right as the series progressed and gained it`s massive following. Dethklok`s popularity gained them their own life outside of the show and prompted Brendon Small to assemble the real band which will record and tour under the name of Dethklok. Brendon is the mastermind behind both the animated and real-life bands and recently he hsa joined forces with Epiphone to give his lead guitarist Skwisgaar Skwigelf a proper guitar. It comes in the shape of the iconic Explorer, which is probably the most metal guitar of all metal guitars. Thunderhorse, as it is named, comes in mighty Silverburst with gloss finish and nickel hardware. It`s flat-top body is made of solid mahogany and it is paired with a standard set in mahogany neck. Bridge section on the Thunderhorse is made up of a six-saddled Locktone tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail bar. Dethklok is no serenade playing wedding band, they`re just about the ultimate metal beasts. Their tone is vicious and mighty, and accordingly, Epiphone installs a pair of super strong Gibson USA Burstbucker pickups. Burstbucker 1 is in the neck and Burstbucker 2 in the bridge position. Bridge pickup is overwound for that extra punch and monster sustain. These Burstbuckers feature two volume knobs with push/pull switches for the added versatility, a master tone knob and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Set in neck is equipped with '60 slim taper D contour in the back and phenolic fingerboard on top. 22 frets are medium jumbo-sized and marked with dot inlays. Modern-shaped headstock is equipped with a set of six in-line Grover Mini Rotomatics with 14:1 gear ratio. This is a limited edition model with the MSRP set at $999.
