American Professional Jazz Bass is one of seven members of the American Professional series` bass section. Also, it is one of four Jazz Bass models (forming a quarter of the entire range`s lineup). Fender advertises this new Jazz as a contemporary bass, made for a discerning modern player. Some of the shared Professional features (also found on the Jazz Bass) include a bone string nut, narrow & tall frets, posiflex reinforcement rods within the neck, V-Mod electronics and fluted tuners. Uniquely Jazz Bass features include pickups designed by Michael Bump, slim modern C neck profile and Vintage HiMass bridge. American Professional Jazz Bass can be obtained in four colors, three vintage and one modern. All four can be ordered with either rosewood or maple fingerboards. The offset and flat Jazz Bass body of this model is made of alder, ash alternative is not available. Big, classic pickguard and the standard hardware/electronics layout give this model a very familiar look. The modern maple neck (slim C profile) allows for effortless slides and movement up and down the neck. Fingerboard`s narrow & tall frets reduce friction between fingers and fingerboard tremendously, improving the already stellar playability even further. Vintage HiMass bridge, with four adjustable saddles, comes in both top-load and string-through variants (both are available with all four color options). V-Mod Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups, with a standard controls set, deliver a punchy, bold tone. Fender`s Lightweight Vintage-Style tuners complete the specs list.
