After 66 years in the business, the perennial Precision Bass shows no signs of fatigue or obsolescence. In fact, it is as big and as important as ever, with millions of new players around the world embracing this legendary instrument. The role of Precision models in the new American Professional series is to offer a vintage alternative to modern-oriented Jazz Bass range. Despite its overall vintage tone and styling, American Professional Precision Bass sports some of the modern Professional appointments. These include tall & narrow frets for improved playability, bone string nut, posiflex neck reinforcement rods staggered tuners and V-Mod pickups. American Professional Precision Bass is a solid, flat-top model with classic design and styling features. Mint Green pickguard, vintage bridge and standard electronics layout give it a retro vibe. The body is made of alder (no ash alternative) and is combined with a comfortable maple neck (`63 P Bass profile). Both rosewood and maple fingerboards are available (20 frets, dot inlays, 1.625" bone nuts, 9.5" radii, 34" scales). Vintage HiMass bridge comes in in both the top-load and string-through-body versions, depending on player`s preferences. V-Mod split single-coil AlNiCo pickup (designed by Michael Bump, AlNiCo 5 on the treble side and AlNiCo 2 on the bass side) are supported with one volume and one tone knob. Fluted-shaft tuners wrap things up for this 2017 incarnation of the grandad of all electric basses.
