RG421PB shares the same platform as the RG420 and RG7420PB. They`re all new models for 2016, introduced at winter NAMM in Anaheim, Ca. Simple RG420 will reinforce the RG Tremolo line, 7420 is the seven-string variant with additional poplar burl top, while the 421 joins the RG Fixed series. 421 is made for RG fans who want a robust, well playing and affordable guitar, but without the locking tremolo bridge. Instead, 421 features the common hardtail option known in Ibanez catalog as "Fixed Bridge". It is a string-through-body unit, similar to the classic Fender Hardtail. Other than that, premium features of this fixed-bridge 420 include a standard 25-1/2" scale, passive Ibanez electronics and bolt-on neck joint. RG421 starts off with a multi-part mahogany body with a stunning poplar burl cap on top. Three-piece maple neck rocks the regular Wizard profile in the back and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Ibanez Quantum pickups come in H/H arrangement, featuring coil-splitting and parallel/serial connection options which immensely augments the possibilities with these bad boys. Said Fixed Bridge with string-through construction and stock die-cast tuners take good care of the tuning and intonation.
