2014 is the year in which Gibson celebrates 120 years in business and what better way to celebrate such an achievement than with a line of super exclusive limited edition guitars. One of very few models featured in the 120 series is the magnificent Les Paul Traditional 120 Flame Maple Top. Gibson has selected some of the most popular and most requested features and appointments and some are slightly modified to appeal to the contemporary player. To begin with, Gibson has selected the vintage non-weight relieved mahogany base and the luxurious flamed maple top. There are three versions of this anniversary LP. All three feature the Heritage Cherry Sunburst, but the difference is in the maple top quality. The basic one has the AA top and costs $2,800, medium one has the AAA top and costs $3,100, while the top option features the AAA+ top and a price tag of $3,600. Classic two-piece bridge unit is plated in chrome and is fronted with a pair of Gibson`s iconic 1959 Tribute Humbuckers. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle switch complete the electronics department. Mahogany neck is fit with a `59 contour is set in and features a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. Tonepros Kluson tuners on the headstock complete the specs list.
