Granddad of all semi-hollows, the legendary ES-335 looks and sounds as vital as ever in new 2016 Gibson Memphis catalog. It`s like the years can not touch this magnificent classic, it keeps coming back better and better. This time around, it accounts for around a half of the Memphis novelties which are to be unveiled at this year`s NAMM. 2016 ES-335 Satin is one of the less expensive 335s this year. It features the tested and tried ES recipe with some fine spices thrown in for a good measure. First things first, the body of this majestic semi is, well, semi hollow and double cut. Nothing new there. Back, sides and top are made of maple/poplar/maple three-ply laminates, while the center block is made of solid maple. Carved top features fine creme binding around the edges and unbound "f" holes on either side of the bridge. Plastic pickguard is also there. One-piece mahogany neck is among the finest ones in whole of ES family. It features a rounded C profile and 19th fret joint in the back, with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Standard fingerboard features, such as block inlays, 1-11/16" bone nut and 12" radius are all there, providing the genuine Gibson playing experience. With Burstbucker 2 in the bridge and Burstbucker 1 in the neck, this rock`n`roll machine is ready to take on the world. dual volume and tone knobs with 500k capacitors and a standard 3-way toggle switch complete the electronics unit. Two-piece bridge unit and Milk Bottle Grover Rotomatic tuners guarantee immaculate tuning and intonation stability.
