Schecter`s Omen line of electric basses has received reinforcements in the extended range area as well. The task of Omen 5 2012 is to serve as an affordable and solid built five-stringer for younger metal bassists with a taste in downtuned metal sub-genres. Omen 5 2012 is coming on as a solid, double cutaway model with a body made of basswood. The top on this model is carved and equipped with binding. If the player`s choice falls on a black gloss model, it will be bound with ivoroid, and if he or she picks the walnut satin option, they will get it with black binding. The bridge is Schecter`s own Diamond bass bridge with five saddles, black chrome plating and string-through-body construction. The pickups are also Schecters, Diamond Plus bass humbuckers, to be exact. And these powerplants are managed through master volume, master blend and an active two-band equalizer. The neck is made of maple and equipped with bolt-on joint which is comprised of six bolts. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and features 24 extra jumbo sized frets with pearloid semi-goth position inlays. Other features on Omen 5 2012 include: Schecter bass tuners, 35" scale and black chrome hardware.
