Ibanez SR series is one of the most popular and one of the biggest in volume bass series on the market. Standard SR series, named simply SR, takes care of the lower intermediate and intermediate classes, while the Premium SR and Prestige SR lines cater to professional musicians and players with deep pockets. 2016 NAMM show has brought us an entire host of brand new and refreshed SR and SR Premium models. SR400 tier has received five new models and SR406EBCW is one of them (the only six-stringed 400 bass). Standard 34" scale, bolt-on construction, stock electronics & hardware and beautiful claro walnut top are the main features of this six-stringed behemoth. SR406EBCW kicks off with a mahogany/walnut body and a five-piece maple/rosewood neck. 24-fret rosewood fingerboard completes the chassis. It features medium-sized frets, dot inlays, 2.12" nut and 15.75" radius (bit wider than the series standard 12"). Electronics on this model follow the lower SR tiers` standards. A pair of PowerSpan humbuckers and an extended controls unit (volume, balance, 3-band EQ and tap switch) comprise it. Accu-cast B306 hardtail bridge and stock die-cast tuners wrap the list of major features.
