300 is the basic tier of the standard SR series and, as such, sets the bar for the rest of the models and tiers. 300 models usually compete in the lower intermediate class, being positioned well above the beginner, but below the intermediate class. In recent years, SR300 has made several big steps towards the intermediate class, while still remaining within the price range of the lower intermediate range. 2016 SR300 models come with even better specs list and playability. SR300EB is one of the brightest examples. This standard-sized (34" scale) four-stringer features passive electronics, Ibanez hardware and surprisingly high level of build quality. SR300EB kicks off with a pretty much standard formula - a solid mahogany body with a super deep cutaway paired with a five-piece maple/rosewood neck. The SR-shaped neck is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. Medium-sized frets, dot inlays and 1.50" nut are featured on the fingerboard. Electronics department is also a standard one. It has two PowerSpan humbuckers with a standard set of controls (3-band EQ, mid-frequency switch). Accu-Cast B120 bridge and die-cast tuners complete the specs list.
