American Professional series builds on the legacy of Fender`s American range and strives to open new avenues and attract an even wider spectrum of players to Fender catalog. Some of the main distinctive features of the newly introduced series include narrow & tall frets, bone string nuts, posiflex neck reinforcement rods, V-Mod pickups (made with Fender`s proprietary blend of different AlNiCo alloys), fluted tuners and hardshell cases. Also, each model family has its own Professional features, as well as a variation on either historic or contemporary neck profile (electrics come with Deep C, Jazz Basses with Slim C, while Precisions sport 1963 P profiles). American Professional Precision Bass V starts off with a classic double-cut P body, made of alder. Ash options are not available in bass section (only selected Teles and Strats offer ash options). Three classic color options make up the palette, all sporting rosewood fingerboards, polyurethane finish and nickel/chrome hardware. Maple necks (with `63 P profile) are standard for all Professional Precision models, including this one. Hardware and plastics appointments include knurled flat-top control knobs, Vintage-Style fluted tuning machines and 3-ply pickguard. Electronics unit lists one V-Mod split single-coil pickup (middle position), one volume and one tone pot as its main features. This simple and versatile combo delivers a more vintage-y tone than Professional Jazz Bass division, aiming at more traditional players out there.
