Along with Telecaster, Stratocaster and Jazz Bass, Precision was also included into 2012 American Standard Series overhaul. The results are truly impressive as these new models shine with power and beauty. They are the gem of Fender`s 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse booth. The main difference when compared to their predecessors, these models all feature Fender Custom Shop '50s and '60s Pickups. 2012 American Standard Precision Bass Left Handed comes with a classic Precision shaped double cutaway body made of alder. The top is flat and it features a standard plastic pickguard. 3-color sunburst option features a tortoise pickguard, while the black one sports a white pickguard. There are no bindings or top woods on this Precision. The bridge is a high mass vintage appointment which comes with chrome plating and four adjustable saddles. It can feature either a top-load, or string-through-body construction. Pickup department features the same P pickup in the middle position as it`s right-handed counterpart. Fender Custom Shop '60s Precision pickup is controlled through master volume and master tone knobs. The neck is made of maple and it features a standard modern C contour with four-bolt joint. The fingerboard for this lefty Precision Bass is made of rosewood and it features 20 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, 9.5" wide radius and 1.625" wide synthetic bone string nut. Other features include: 34" scale, chrome plated hardware and Posiflex graphite truss rod reinforcements. The MSRP for 2012 American Standard Precision Bass Left Handed is set at $1,649.99.
