For 2012 Fender refreshed one of it`s corner-stone series, the legendary American Standard. Four of it`s models were included into the overhaul: Stratocaster, Telecaster, Precision and Jazz. These models have been treated with new Fender Custom Shop single coil and humbucking pickups. The new and refreshed series was unveiled at 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse. 2012 American Standard Jazz Bass comes with a standard offset-waist double cutaway shape. It`s body is made of alder and it sports a recognizable pickguard on top. Top is flat and does not feature any kind of binding or top woods. There are six color options available for this Jazz Bass and they include: black, Olympic white, three-color sunburst, jade pearl metallic, charcoal frost metallic and candy cola. They all sport glossy finishes. The bridge is a Vintage High Mass bridge with chrome plating and four string saddles. It comes with two options: top-load or string-through. Pickup combo is laid out in S/S pattern and they are Fender Custom Shop '60s Jazz pickups. They are controlled through master volume and tone knobs. The neck is made of maple with C contour and four-bolt bolt-on joint. Fingerboard can be made of rosewood and maple. In both cases it features 20 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, 9.5" radius and 1.50" wide synthetic bone nut. Other features include: 34" scale, chrome hardware and Posiflex graphite neck support rods. The MSRP for 2012 American Standard Jazz Bass is set at $1,749.99.

Own a beautiful 2010 MIA Standard Jazz and It is the "Standard" by which all others are judged. Beautiful finish, great electronics, fast neck. Classic. What else can I say. I own a Gibson EB, Godin SD, Classic Ampeg Dan Armstrong and this is the go to bass.
