Edge series has received EMG powerups for 2013 and they are coming in active humbucking mode. Three new Edges have been introduced this January, one four-stringer, one with five and one with six strings. This new division of Edge series really is on the edge, as it offers unheard-of tone for a moderately-priced line of electric basses. The series opens up with Edge 4 EMG. It is the basic model with four strings and bolt-on neck construction. Body of this model is solid, double-cut and made of alder in it`s entirety. Since this series is all about performance, Dean leaves the fancy decorations out. Body of Edge 4 EMG is flat, simple and finished in gloss. Black is the only color scheme available. Neck is made of maple and it sports the standard C contour in the back. It is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot inlays. Electronics department is supplied by EMG. A pair of 35P4 pickups is installed on this model. Bridge section features a hardtail bridge with top-load construction.
