J-430E is one of three jumbo-shaped six-stringers in ESP`s newly formed Tombstone series of acoustic-electric guitars. The role of this particular six-shooter is to attract the players who are looking for an intermediate/upper intermediate class jumbo-shaped steel-stringer with classic western construction. Some of the strongest points upon which the J-430E relies are the high quality Fishman electronics, superior construction quality and an amazing tone both unplugged and plugged in. Selection of the right tonewoods is as important as the construction quality and ESP has shown a deep understanding of the steel-string acoustic guitar throughout this marvelous series. J-430E comes with the classic rosewood/spruce combination for the body and mahogany/rosewood for the neck and fingerboard. Back and sides of this spacious single-cut jumbo are made of the top grade rosewood, while the sound board is made of the solid Sitka spruce. Top is bound in creme/abalone binding and features a discreet single-circle abalone rosette around the sound hole. Classic rosewood bridge conceals the Fishman Sonicore pickup which is paired with a side-mounted Isys+ preamp. Combined with the right tonewood selection and immaculate construction, Fishman`s active electronics system transfers the strong, warm and well defined tone of this steel-stringed gem with an amazing level of fidelity. With modern guitar players in mind, ESP has opted to fit the mahogany neck with the thin U profile similar to the ones found on ESP and LTD electrics. 14th fret dovetail joint is the staple feature of the Tombstone series, featured on every model including this one. Bound rosewood fingerboard has 20 jumbo-sized frets with abalone diamond inlays and 1.69" wide Nubone nut. LTD tuners on the bound headstock wrap the specs list.
