Twelve new models for Taylor`s Limited Edition Spring 2012 catalog hit the stage. Exotic woods, features and construction solution are abundant on these guitars.

Every Spring and Fall Taylor introduces seasonal limited edition models and series. For years now the tradition is for Taylor to pick certain regular acoustic or acoustic-electric series or model and give them the Limited Edition treatment. It sometimes includes exotic woods or hardware appointments. Theme for this Spring is the scarf joint between the neck and headstock. It is a feature used to provide more rigidity and stability for the neck. Also, a common feature is the ebony fingerboard. All of these twelve models will be available during this Spring. There are three series: Cocobolo 800, Hawaiian Koa 300, GS Mini and a 416ce-LTD Baritone model. Cocobolo 800 comes with 814ce-LTD and 816ce-LTD. Koa 300 is the largest series with six models: 310ce-LTD, 312ce-LTD, 312ce-N-LTD, 314ce-LTD, 314ce-N-LTD and 316ce-LTD. GS Minis are: GS Mini Blackwood, GS Mini Rosewood and GS Mini Maple.

Cocobolo 814ce-LTD comes with a grand auditorium cutaway body made of cocobolo back and sides with a solid spruce top. 20 fret ebony fingerboard and neck-headstock scarf joint are besides the cocobolo the most prominent features on this high-end acoustic electric. Electronics are Taylor`s standard appointment, the Expression System with an under-saddle piezo pickup and a preamp. Mother-of-pearl inlays, 15" fingerboard radius, 25-1/2" scale and gold plated Taylor tuners wrap the specs list. The MSRP for this model is set at $4,498. Cocobolo 816ce-LTD is a grand symphony shaped model of the series. It is Taylor`s tradition to equip the models from the same series with the same specs. The biggest difference is the body shape on which these features are applied. Cocobolo back and sides are combined with spruce top and tropical mahogany neck. It is equipped with a scarf joint which attaches the headstock. The top of the body is bound in curly maple and adorned with abalone rosette. Expression System takes care of the amplification tasks. 20 fret ebony fingerboard, 25-1/2" scale and CV bracing complete the specs list. The MSRP is set at $4,498 for this model as well. 300 series of acoustic-electric guitars has been given Hawaiian koa treatment along with the ebony fingerboard and scarf joint between the neck and headstock. 310ce-LTD kicks off with koa back and sides and spruce top. Black binding, tortoise pickguard and triple circle rosette adorn the top. Electronics section on this model is made up of Taylor`s own Expression System. 20 frets, dot position inlays, 15" radius and 1-3/4" TUSQ nut complete the fingerboard. Hawaiian Koa 312ce-LTD comes as a grand concert guitar with a single Venetian cutaway.  It`s body is made o koa back and sides and spruce top. It is combined with a tropical mahogany neck. The neck features two joints, dovetail connects it o the body and scarf joint attaches the headstock on it. Upon this bridge an ebony fingerboard is installed. 20 frets, dot position inlays, 15" radius and 1-3/4" TUSQ nut complete the fingerboard. 25-1/2" scale, Taylor chrome plated tuners and forward shifted bracing wrap the list of specs. Hawaiian Koa 312ce-N-LTD is one of two nylon-stringers in this season`s Limiteds. It has a grand concert body made of koa back and sides and a spruce top. This body is paired with a tropical mahogany neck via the dovetail joint. The opposite side of the neck features  a scarf joint which attaches the headstock to the neck. Ebony fingerboard is one more of this Spring`s common features for all models. Taylor Expression System on this model is adjusted for the optimal use on nylon-stringed guitars, and thus bears the name ES-N. Other than this 312ce-N-LTD features 20 frets, Taylor tuners, dot inlays and nylon series bracing. The MSRP is set at $2898. Hawaiian Koa 314ce-LTD is one of two grand auditorium models in Hawaiian Koa series and it comes with a single cutaway. The body woods used on this one are the same as on other models of the series, koa for the back and sides with spruce top. Tropical mahogany neck features two joints. The scarf joint connects the headstock and neck, while the standard dovetail joint attaches neck to the body. Ebony is the material of choice for the fingerboard and it comes with 20 frets, dot position inlays, 15" radius and 1-3/4" TUSQ nut. The MSRP is set at $2,898. Hawaiian Koa 314ce-N-LTD is the second and last nylon stringed model in this season`s Limited Edition lineup. It is placed within the Hawaiian Koa 300 series of acoustic-electric guitars. IT has koa back and sides with solid spruce top. Number fourteen in it`s name denotes it is a grand auditorium model, and "ce" tells it is an acoustic-electric guitar with a cutaway. ES-N electronics take care of the amplification, while the tropical mahogany neck features a 20 fret ebony fingerboard. The MSRP is set at $2,898. Hawaiian Koa 316ce-LTD is a grand symphony model with a cutaway and Taylor Exression System electronics. The body i made of koa back and sides and spruce top with black binding around the top. Neck is made of tropical mahogany and equipped with two joints. Dovetail attaches it to the body at the 14th fret and the scarf joint connects the headstock to the neck. Ebony fingerboard is equipped with more standard features, such as 20 frets, dot inlays, 15" radius and 1-3/4" string nut. The MSRP is set at $2,898. GS Mini Blackwood is the first of three short-scaled Taylors for this Spring`s Limited Edition catalog. This one has a grand symphony body made of blackwood back and sides with solid spruce top. None of these models features any kind of electronics, they are all fully acoustic. Neck is still the most prominent feature with it` two joints and ebony fingerboard. 20 frets, 1-11/16" string nut and dot inlays complete the fingerboard. GS Mini Rosewood features the same set of specs as the previous model, with the only exception of body wood. This one has rosewood back and sides with spruce top. Other than that, all is the same. This GS Mini is also a fully acoustic 23-1/2" scaled guitar with a sapele neck. The fingerboard is made of ebony and equipped with 20 frets, dot position inlays and 1-11/16" wide string nut. Under the first couple of frets is the place where the scarf joint connects the headstock to the body. The MSRP is set at $748. GS Mini Maple is the last of three acoustic guitars featured in this Spring Limited Edition catalog. It offers maple back and sides with spruce top wrapped in grand symphony shape. Tortoise pickguard, black binding and triple circle rosette adorn the top of this, as well as other two models. Sapele neck is a permanent fixture in this series and it carries an ebony fingerboard on it`s top. 20 frets, dot position inlays and 1-11/16" string nut complete the fingerboard. 416ce-LTD Baritone is the only long-scaled model of the bunch. It comes with a grand symphony shaped body, which is made of ovangkol back and sides and spruce top. Tortoise pickguard, white binding and triple circle rosette wrap up the body specs. Tropical mahogany neck is attached to the body with  a dovetail joint. It also features a scarf joint for the headstock. Ebony fingerboard is equipped with 20 frets, progressive dot inlays and 1-3/4" wide string nut.
