Today, Gretsch Guitars represent a new bass, G2220 Junior Jet Bass II from Electromatic Collection of instruments. This Bass with 30-1/3" scale may be small, but it has a big sound coming from it`s humbuckers. 20 medium jumbo frets, sleek color options and chrome hardware complete the picture.
Gretsch G2220 Junior Jet Bass II comes with a shape reminiscent of a Les Paul like all Jet models from the Electromatic Collection. Body is made of basswood with a single cutaway and flat top. This little-big rocker has a hardtail bridge which provides great tuning stability for hours upon hours of hot rock `n` roll. The word big becomes clear upon the first strum when two humbucking pickups release the thunder and lightning. It becomes obvious that the short scale is in no way a disadvantage to this bad boy and that he rocks with the same passion and power as his bigger brothers. Junior has simple and easy to use controls department with master volume and tone knobs accompanied by the toggle pickup switch.
Junior features a maple neck with smooth and comfortable contour which enables the players to venture beyond the standard bass lines. The neck features rosewood fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets and dot position inlays. Other features include: chrome hardware, pickguard, 12" fingerboard radius, 30-1/3" scale, die-cast tuners and synthetic bone nut. It is available in Black and Tobacco Sunburst color options. The MSRP for this model is set at $475.
