Gibson SG Standard Limited Hits The Scene

Gibson USA represents another vintage model in the SG line.

Gibson SG Standard Limited Hits The Scene

Gibson USA honours the legacy of the early SG models with the new SG Standard Limited.

Gibson SG emerged on the scene in the early 1960s as a flat top solid bodied replacement for the Les Paul. Very quickly it was clear that the SG had made a reputation of it`s own and that it will be one of the corner stones of the catalog for decades to come.  This new Gibson SG Standard Limited is packed with all the goods the early SGs had and wraps them in four new color options. Dual humbuckers, wraparound bridge, slim taper neck and split controls give this guitar unrepeatable playing feel and it`s beveled edges, "devil`s horns" double cutaway and chrome plated hardware bring the classy vintage looks to the picture.

SG Standard Limited has a solid flat top mahogany body with an iconic double cutaway and beveled edges just like the original SGs from the 1960s. Chrome plated tune-o-matic bridge is paired with a stoptail bar to form one of the best known Gibson bridge combos in history. This pair holds the strings in pitch perfect tuning no matter what. The pickup department has one of classical lineups with 498T humbucker with Alnico V magnets and additional wiring in the bridge and 490R humbucker with Alnico II magnets in the neck position. The tone they produce is strong enough to shake heavens and earth. Controls consist of split volume and tone controls for each pickup and a three-way toggle switch.

Neck is made of mahogany and features 1960s slim taper profile, the first and one of the best fast neck profiles ever made. It is attached to the body with a mortise and tenon joint and has a 12" radius which gives enough of support for the bends while still being round enough for the chords. Baked maple fingerboard has 22 frets and figured acrylic trapezoid inlays. Other features include: nitrocellulose gloss finish, classical 24-3/4" long scale, 1.695" wide corian nut, big "batwing" pickguard and chrome plated hardware with TonePros Kluson tuning machines. It is available in: Vintage Sunburst, Natural Burst, Aged Cherry and Cream color options. MSRP is set at $1,899.

SG Standard Limited brings the feel of the 1960s with solid mahogany body, set neck, dual humbuckers, split controls, tune-o-matic bridge and a three-way toggle switch. Check SG Standard Limited at our detail page or at Gibson Guitars official web page.
