As the first days of January came rolling slowly one might think that the guitar world is taking a rest, swept in the holiday daze. But it couldn`t be further from the truth. The first one to prove this thoughts wrong is Fernandes with it`s new models and giveaway contests. The first wave on the shore is led by the announcement of the Fernandes NAMM official booth and the new catalog for 2012. There, the commanding force is assembled of the brand new JP line of models with some serious fire power and mean looks. The flagship of this new fleet comes in the shape of Vortex Elite JP, a V-shaped beast made to conquer and rule metal stages all over the world.
Fernandes Vortex Elite JP
New set of axes for 2012 Fernandes catalog brings more than thirty new models with the JP series being the top of the line. These instruments are crafted in Japan and feature only the best Fernandes can offer. New and audacious color schemes, Sustainer pickups and titanium truss rods are just some of the features being upgraded and crafted for the invasion. The spotlight model, the Vortex Elite JP is leading the Fernandes storm with it`s 24 jumbo frets, mighty EMG and Sustainer pickup combo and a Floyd Rose tremolo. Elite JP is also the top of the Vortex line reintroduced not long ago, taking the lead from the Vortex Elite.
Vortex Elite JP starts off with a well known Vortex flat top V shaped body with beveled edges. Floyd rose bridge is, as is the rest of the hardware on this model, painted black. it is paired with a locking nut. EMG81 is in the bridge and Fernandes Sustainer in the neck position. This pickup combo is controlled through master volume, master tone, sustainer switch and a three-way toggle pickup switch. The neck features an ebony fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets, diamond inlays and Graphtech nut. 25-1/2" scale, Gotoh tuners and 14" fingerboard radius complete the spec.

Fernandes Ravelle Deluxe Giveaway
Fernandes and Coffin Case company have formed a pact to give away one Ravelle Deluxe packed in a Coffin shaped case to a lucky winner. The Ravelle Deluxe is a single cutaway model shaped after the legendary Les Paul and serves as a seres` center between Ravelle X and Ravelle Elite models. Solid mahogany body with a quilted maple top is available in trans amber, black and ivory finishes. Tune-o-matic bridge is paired with a stoptail bar. EMG81/60 combo is controlled through master volume nad tone knobs and a three-way toggle. Set mahogany neck has an ebony fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and trapezoid inlays.
