S421 is a model from Highly successful S series of solid bodied electric guitars from Ibanez. This series was made as an option for players who like double cut bodies and carved tops on them. Prestige and Premium divisions, as well as 25th anniversary division exist besides the regular S. For fall 2012 Ibanez prepared a brand new S series model, S421. It comes with a solid, double cut body made of mahogany. There is no top wood veneer, though the top panel is carved. Binding and pickguard are are also missing from the specs list, as Ibanez is more concentrated on performance, than looks on regular S series models. Color options assigned to this new six-stringer are Black and Blackberry Sunburst. Both are finished in satin. Bridge section on S421 includes Gibraltar Standard bridge with six saddles and string-through-body construction. Pickups are made by Ibanez ad two passive humbucker combo contains Infinity 1 in the bridge and Infinity 2 in the neck position. Master volume, master tone and five position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Blade switch also splits the pickups into single coils in position 4. Three-piece maple neck is bolted to the body and equipped with a Wizard III contour. Rosewood fingerboard has 24 jumbo frets, custom 12th fret inlay, 12" radius and 1.69" wide string nut. Hardware is black and scale measures 25-1/2" in length.
