RGA is a line of thoroughbred metal guitars which combine the minimalist RG approach with carved tops characteristic for the cult S series. RGA is a fairly recent development, considering the 30+ year history of the RG and S ranges. At 2016 winter NAMM, RGA series has received two models. One is a basic intermediate-class six-stringer named RGA32 and the other is its seven string twin named RGA732. RGA32 is a standard-scaled guitar (25-1/2" scale) with six strings, passive Ibanez electronics, 24-fret fingerboard and fixed bridge. Weathered Black with satin finish and black hardware is the only available color scheme at the moment.
RGA32 has a multi-part body made of mahogany and a three-piece maple neck. Double-cut body and Wizard-shaped neck (Wizard`s third generation, to be exact) are connected through the modern four-bolt joint. The fingerboard on top of the neck is equipped with a standard set of features - jumbo frets with dot inlays, 1.69" nut and 15.75" radius.
Ibanez Quantum humbuckers are the new standard weaponry of the economy class of Ibanez catalog. These passive/ceramic pups offer a versatile, all-round tone expected of Ibanez guitars. Parallel connection and coil splitting options are now standard and can be dialed in via the five-position pickup switch. RGA32 has the standard issue "Fixed Bridge" with string-through-body construction and a set of die-cast tuners to keep the tuning and intonation in check.
