It`s role is of a basic, lower-intermediate option with fixed bridge and only two pickups (though HSH pickups configuration is RG standard). 2017 RG421 comes in with a modern color palette, passive electronics, 24-fret fingerboard and bolt-on neck construction. The body of this affordable axe is made of mahogany and it`s paired with a classic Wizard III maple neck. The neck is attached through a modern, recessed joint (with four bolts) and is topped with a standard 24-fret rosewood fingerboard (with jumbo frets, dot inlays, 1.69" nut, 15.75" radius). Major hardware and electronics features on RG421 include a string-through fixed bridge, Quantum (passive/ceramic) humbuckers and die-cast tuning machines.
