Tom Petty`s Kingman is a limited edition guitar, there will only be 25 of these made by Fender`s Acoustic Custom Shop before the production ends. It is a non-cutaway dreadnought guitar with an exclusive specs list put together by Mr. Petty himself. Top quality mahogany is used for the back and side panels of the body, while the AA sitka spruce is used for the sound board. Maple neck sports a dovetail joint and a vintage C contour in the back. Also, it has a vintage `62 Strat headstock. On it`s top, Fender installs a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard. Electronics department rocks the high end VT-2 pickup/preamp system with the controls unit being installed on the sound board. Bridge follows the fingerboard suit, it is solid, made of rosewood and has a bone saddle.
