Parallaxe is a new player in the metal guitar game. This is a brand new brand, launched in 2013 by Washburn Guitars. Introduction of the Parallaxe brand signifies Washburn`s big comeback to the metal stages across the world. These guitars are advertised as the ultimate shred guitars and will be sold in the range of $750-$1300. Parallaxe catalog consists of three series, PXM, PXS and PXL. PXM and PXS offer double-cut guitars, while the PXL is reserved for single-cut models. All guitars in this initial lineup feature solid bodies made of mahogany or alder, maple necks, 24-fret fingerboards and Grover tuners. PXM series has five models and the PXM27EC is the only seven-string model. It comes with a solid, double-cut body made of alder. Top is carved and finished in matte. Black is the only color scheme and it is matched with black hardware. Black tune-o-matic bridge is installed in the bridge section and it features string-through construction. Pickups are EMG 707 humbuckers in both the bridge and neck positions. Maple and mahogany are combined for the neck of this model. Neck is set in and it`s topped with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard. Tuners on the headstock are Grover. Buzz Feiten tuning system, 25-1/2" scale and custom 12th fret inlay wrap the specs list.
