JS is the introductory tier in Jackson catalog and it`s being reinforced with five new models for 2013. First on the list is JS22-7 DKA Dinky, a solid, double-cut guitar with Dinky contours. It features arched top and it`s completely made of basswood. As with many brands, basswood is the budget-friendly substitute for alder and mahogany. This Dinky features stripped down styling in order to maintain the balance between the low price and high quality. This is the strategy many of the leading brands also employ, for there is many players who want quality guitars, but are not in situation to buy something expensive. This way, they get the quality build, good materials and great tone for a decent price. Bridge on this model is a direct-mount hardtail with seven saddles and string-through construction. Pickups are installed in H/H configuration and feature a basic controls set. Master volume, master tone and a three-position selector switch. Neck is made of maple and it is bolted to the body. On it`s top Jackson installs a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with piranha inlays across the frets. Set of seven die-cast tuners is featured on the headstock.
