Ibanez has added six new models into the Iron Label range this autumn and SIR28FD is one of them. It comes with a solid and double-cut body made entirely of mahogany. Carved top and contoured back are the hallmark features of the iconic S series and are also featured on the SIX and SIR models.SIR28FD does not feature any top wood cover, as this feature is reserved for the SIX models. Also, instead of abalone binding, SIR models have plain white binding around the body. Iron Pewter is the only color option available for the SIR models. SIR28FD comes with a 29-2/5" scale, which is almost a short bass scale. On the top, there is an eight-saddle variant of the regular Gibraltar hardtail bridge. In it`s front, Ibanez installs a pair of extended range DiMarzio D Activator pickups. These mighty humbuckers come with master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch. Neck on this model is made of three pieces of maple and bubinga and it is bolted to the body. On the top, it features a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. Jumbo-sized frets, 2.16" wide nut and 15.75" radius complete the specs.
