Ibanez is preparing a brand new lineup for Mick Thompson signature series this summer. Mick`s old MTM1 and MTM2 are being replaced by vicious X series-based models MTM10 and MTM100. In this new lineup MTM100 acts as the flagship of the fleet. It comes with already familiar double cutaway body with neck-thru-body construction. Body is made of mahogany and it features no top wood veneers. Black color of the body and hardware is countered with white binding around the top and fingerboard. Pickguard is omitted from the specs list for both MTM models. Bridge section features a modified Edge III tremolo bridge. It is now fixed and tremolo arm is removed. Other than that, all Edge III features are preserved. Locking nut remains present. Pickups on this model are Seymour Duncan Active Blackouts in both the bridge and neck positions. Controls unit is very basic and simple, it features master volume knob and three-position blade switch. Neck is made of five pieces of maple and walnut and it runs through the body for increased sustain and strength of tone. Back of the neck features MTM contour and the top sports bound rosewood fingerboard. Fingerboard is equipped with 24 jumbo-sized frets, "seven" inlays, 15-3/4" radius and 1.69" wide string nut. Other features include: 25-1/2" scale, black hardware and high gloss finish. MTM100 will become available this summer.
