Introduced several years ago as Mick Thomson`s first Ibanez signature, MTM1 set the standards for tone, build quality and durability among signature metal guitars. `Twas a simple, lean six-string with a killer tone. 2015 MTM1 is also a beast, but a bit more brutal than its predecessor. It comes with a solid and double-cut RG body with neck-through construction and simple styling. Wings of the body are made of mahogany as the maple/walnut neck runs through the entire length of the body. This time, instead of Blood Red, Mick and Ibanez went for Black with glossy finish and black hardware. Binding around the body and neck, logo on the headstock and fingerboard inlays are white. Maple-walnut neck featured on this model is a five-piece with super fast Wizard III profile in the back and KTS TITANIUM truss rods running through it. 24-fret fingerboard on top comes with the series-standard SEVEN inlay laid across first five frets (Mick`s number in Slipknot`s lineup is seven). EMTY AHB3 Blackouts, Seymour Duncan`s fiercest active pickups, grace the bridge and neck positions. Savage strength meets surgical precision within their four coils to produce one of the defining tones of modern metal scene. Master volume and three-position blade switch are installed along with the pickups. Edge III locking trem system and six tuners on a reversed headstock wrap up the list of major features.
