Hamer is primarily a line of exclusive electric guitars and basses. Since it`s inception in the early 1970s, Hamer was considered as the first commercially successful boutique custom shop brand, dedicated almost exclusively to the professional players. Recent years saw changes in brand policy and the affordable XT segment with intermediate and entry-level guitars was introduced. Californian series within it`s boundaries deals with solid, double-cut axes with Soloist/RG design. Californian CX2R comes with a basswood-made body with flat-top design. CX2R comes with a one-piece hardtail bridge with string-through-body construction. In the front, Hamer installs a pair of their own humbucking pickups. They`re passive and feature series standard controls. Maple neck has a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on it`s top.
