Gibson is having major catalog overhaul in order to prepare for 2013, which is the year of Les Paul. In 2013, Gibson is celebrating the work and legacy of late Mr Paul with new models in LP and SG series, as well as with new appointments on already existing models. Four models in both series are being introduced as tributes directly to the innovations he brought into the world of guitars. SG '70s Tribute is equipped with a pair of open coil humbuckers, Gibson`s Dirty Fingers, to be exact. These two bring super strong tone and loads of sustain. Tone is slightly vintage-styled, to correspond with the age of heavy rock and metal. Body of this model is a classic one, it`s thin, flat and made of mahogany. Simple double cut body has beveled edges and glossy paint on it. Ebony, Cherry and Vintage Sunburst comprise the color palette of this model. Neck is made of mahogany, as well and it features a characteristic '70s contour with rosewood fingerboard on top. Fingerboard is equipped with 24 medium jumbo frets, figured acrylic trapezoid inlays and 1.55" corian nut. The MSRP for this Tribute model is set at $1,499.
