Les Paul supreme is a new model represented for the 2013 issue of Gibson USA catalog. It is a part of the catalog makeover in honor of Les Paul and 2013 as the year of Les Paul. In addition to refreshed and updated models from the current catalog, Gibson introduces several new models, of which Supreme has the highest rank and is most expensive. It kicks off with an interesting combination of tone woods for the body, flamed maple comprises both the top cap and the back. Back section of the body is weight relieved and features mahogany core. Top is made of two pieces of book matched flamed maple. It`s bound in seven layers of white binding and free of pickguard. Back side is bound in triple white binding. Bridge section of this model is a classic one, it is equipped with a tune-o-matic bridge in the front with stoptail bar in the back. This combo is made and supplied by Tonepros. Along with the rest of the hardware, bridge and stoptail are plated in gold. Pickups on this gorgeous LP are well known 490R in the neck and 490T in bridge position. Tested and proven on numerous LPs in the past, these pickups are noted for their versatility and tremendous sustain. Controls unit is comprised of separate volume and tone controls with a three-way toggle pickup switch. Les Paul Supreme is equipped with a mahogany-made neck with rounded contour. This contour is fat enough to give good grip and comfortable enough to allow top speed shredding. On it`s top a black richlite fingerboard is installed. It features 22 medium jumbo frets, mother-of-pearl split block inlays, 12" radius and 1.695" wide string nut. Grover Keystone tuners are featured on the headstock. Desrt Burst and Heritage Cherry Sunburst color options are available for this model.
