Blackheart is named after Joan`s most successful band, The Blackhearts. It is one of two signature Melody maker models Gibson makes for Joan Jett. This one comes with a solid, single-cut body made of mahogany. In combination with a mahogany neck, this model offers a strong, deep and smooth tone. Satin Ebony is the only color scheme available for this model. It is matched with chrome hardware and black plastic pickguard. This signature has a two-piece bridge section, despite the fact that it`s situated within the Melody maker series. There`s only one pickup on this black-hearted six-stringer. It is a bridge humbucker with zebra coils. Neck is set in and made of mahogany. On it`s top, Gibson installs a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
