Unique in expression and style, Dave looks for the same qualities in his axes. Gibson Memphis ES-335 with his name is a model on which two very distinct worlds collide to create one of the most original semi-acoustics ever. Semi-hollow body of this double-cut six-stringer is made of three-ply maple/poplar laminates. Carved back, carved top and the thinline sides are all made of the same material, while the center block is made of solid maple. This enables outstanding resonance and a bright, powerful tone without the feedback issues. Style-wise, Dave Grohl ES-335 brings together the classic thinline semi-acoustic design and construction with modern styling and tone. Classic two-piece bridge unit, as well as the rest of the hardware, is plated in chrome. Burstbucker 2 and 3 are installed in the bridge and neck positions, respectively, along with the standard Gibson controls unit. Mahogany neck is glued tot he body and covered with a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Six Grover Mini tuners are installed on the headstock in a single line, instead of the classic Gibson 3+3 arrangement. Gibson Memphis Limited Edition Dave Grohl is available in Pelham Blue and Metallic Gold. 200 copies in Pelham Blue and additional 400 in Metallic Gold will be made before the production of this gorgeous guitar ceases. The MSRP is set at $3,699 for both color options.
