SG Special is, traditionally, among the most affordable guitars Gibson USA makes. It is, also, one of the player`s favorites, as it offers pretty much everything a standard, or even Custom SG offer, but for a much lower price. 2015 SG Special comes loaded with novelties and improvements. The 2015 Gibson SG Special story kicks off with a classic double-cut body made of medium grade mahogany. It`s thin, light and has the traditional devil horns cutaway. Fireburst, Translucent Ebony and Heritage Cherry are the names of the color options available. All three are finished in gloss and all of them come with nickel-plated hardware. Improved tune-o-matic bridge now has titanium saddles and smooth nickel plating. 61 Zebra humbuckers come with open black and white coils and simple controls unit. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch are featured. Set in mahogany neck has the slim taper contour and a wide (1.79" string nut), thick rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets, instead of the standard 22. Gibson`s G Force tuners continue and improve the legacy of the Min-E-Tune system and give this simple six-stringer an improved tuning stability. Brass nut is adjustable by height through two mounting screws, which allows for an easy action adjustment. The MSRP is set at reasonable $1,079.

The G-Force alone is almost worth the full value of the guitar for me i love it. Its saving me so much time and work since I play in so many tunings and even just retuning a primary tuning is so much easier. I play and sing for my group so this has saved so much awkward tuning time onstage. Not to mention this guitar is just fantatic!

GFORCE! its seriously one of the best innovations for guitar in the past few years. it completely eliminates the need to carry 4-5 guitars with you at one time. i enjoy playing in multiple tunings and also i enjoy collecting guitars, but my budget can only go so far, and using the GFORCE no longer requires me to have many guitars for many tunings. plus I am able to try tunings that i wasnt aware of before using the GFORCE.
