Black Label is Fret King`s youngest line, introduced at winter NAMM Show 2012. The aim of the series is to offer the quality of expensive guitars in an affordable package. A clear way to go is bare bones and no nonsense. Among the models of the black label line, there is also Elise Gordon Giltrap model, which comes with a chambered double cutaway body made of mahogany back and flamed maple top. Binding around the top and bass side "f" hole is done in creme. There are no pickguards on this Elise. This six-stringer comes in red color with gloss finish. The bridge compartment consists of a tune-o-matic bridge with piezo pickup and a stoptail bar. Besides the bridge-mounted piezo, regular pickup combo is made up of Wilkinson WVC humbucker in the bridge position and Wilkinson WP90 in the neck. Controls section consists of regular volume and tone controls with a three-way toggle switch for conventional pickups, and three-band equalizer for piezo with a three-way mini switch to chose between piezo and passive circuits. The neck is made of mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard on top. Fingerboard features 22 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, graphite nut and 12" radius. 24-3/4" scale and Wilkinson tuners wrap the specs list. The MSRP is set at around $1,300.
