Limited Edition American Standard Double-Cut Telecaster is the fifth of ten announced 10 for 15 series` models this year. It comes with a solid and double-cut, yes a double-cut body made of ash. While the ash is one of two traditional body wood options in the Telecaster family, the same can not be said about the double cutaway feature. Though a super rare occurrence, the upper horn on this Limited Edition Tele looks as if it were there since the early 1950s. Traditional slab design, Butterscotch Blonde color scheme, black plastic pickguard and the classic hardware layout take the player back to the time before humbucker. On the unbound top, Fender installs a modern variant of the classic Tele bridge. It has six adjustable saddles with string-through construction. Also, it has the front plate which encompasses the slanted bridge pickup. The pickup is a Custom Shop Vintage Style single coil (it`s black, slanted and passive). In the neck position, Fender installs a Custom Shop "Twisted Tele" single coil (with a vintage lipstick cover). One volume, one tone and a three-position blade switch constitute the classic Tele controls unit (of course, they`re mounted onto a metal strip which is, in turn, connected to the plastic pickguard). Combination of the ash body and the Custom Shop Tele pickups brings the original `50s twang into the 21st century. Neck on this exquisite Tele is made of maple (C profile in the back) and has a maple fingerboard on top. 22-frets, black dot inlays and 1.685" synthetic bone nut complete the fingerboard (players can expect the authentic vintage Tele playing experience). Set of six nickel/chrome-plated tuning machines wraps up the list of major specs. The price tag has been set at pretty acceptable $1,499.
