Blacktop is a relatively new series in the Fender catalog, and it aims towards the younger population of guitar and bass players. These models are constructed and equipped to take on the biggest challenges of modern music with their powerful and versatile pickups and enhanced hardware durability. Blacktop Jazzmaster HS comes with a solid, double cutaway body made of alder. The top is flat and covered with a standard pickguard. It features no binding. This model comes in black and three-color sunburst colors with gloss finish. The bridge section on Blacktop Jazzmaster includes adjust-o-matic bridge with a floating tremolo tailpiece behind it. Both pieces are plated in chrome. This model is equipped with two pickups, a humbucker in the bridge position and single coil pickup in the neck position. Bridge pickup is hot vintage humbucker, while the neck position features a Duncan designed single coil. They re controlled through a simple setup of master volume, master tone and three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of maple and it features a C contour. This neck is attached to the body with a bolt-on joint. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and it comes with a set of 21 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, 9.50" wide radius and 1.65" synthetic bone nut. The MSRP for this model is set at $739.
