Back in 1951 the Broadcaster model was created and put to production. The Gretsch filed a lawsuit against the Fender because they had a Broadkaster drum kit in their catalog, and nameplates were simply scratched from the headstocks as it was too late to rename the model and design different nameplates. Under 500 of those were ever produced before the name Telecaster was introduce in 1952. The legend`s name is Nocaster, and the legend is back in shape of Fender Custom Shop 1951 NOS Nocaster. The model starts off with a solid, single cutaway body made of ash. It features no binding or similar embellishments. The bridge is classic Telecaster "ashtray" bridge with three saddles. The bridge also encircles the slanted bridge position single coil pickup. The neck pickup is also a single coil, but regularly positioned. They are controlled through a standard set of master volume, master tone and a three-position blade. The neck is made of quarter-sawn maple and features an early 1950s U-shape and a bolt-on joint. The fingerboard is made of single piece of maple and equipped with 21 frets with 6105 measurements and black dot position inlays. Micarta nut is 1.65" wide and fingerboard radius measures 9.50 inches. Scale is 25-1/2" long. Fender/Gotoh vintage styled tuners, chrome plated hardware, black bakelite pickguard and nitrocellulose lacquer finish wrap the specs up. This Nocaster is available in blonde color option and has an MSRP set at 4,250. 1951 NOS Nocaster will be featured at NAMM 2012 Show.
