Nocaster is a phase in the early history of the Telecaster model. First, in 1950, there was the Esquire model (Same as Telecaster, only with one single-coil pickup placed in the bridge position). A year later, Fender has launched the second variant with two single-coil pickups and Broadcaster name on the headstock. After Gretsch threatened Fender with a law suit (model of a drum set was named Broadkaster), Broadcaster guitars became Nocaster (Casters with no name) and were soon after named Telecaster. Limited 1951 Nocaster Heavy Relic is a heavily aged and worn Telecaster guitar with flat and single-cut ash body, bolt-on maple neck, classic Telecaster bridge, 1950s-styled single coil pickups, standard controls and knobs set, 21-fret fingerboard made of maple and heavily aged hardware.
